From: John Webster johnwebster on 25 Feb 2010 21:35 I have a notebook which is a member of a Windows Domain (a private, internal domain not accessible over the internet). I'm currently travelling and working on a home network/wireless router/DSL connection in India. I was able to use the internet (which has notoriously troublesome connectivity in this locale) for several days (as were others in the household.) We lost use of the internet and some techs from BSNL (India ISP) came to check the line, modem, etc... I believe they enabled network bridging, but in any case, whatever they did did not fix the problem. Subsequently, a local tech did some configuration work on the wireless router and our internet connectivity was restored. All the other users (whose PC's are not members of any domain) can browse the internet. I have access to the internet, but no names resolution. If I enter an IP address, no problem; if I enter a domain name, no soap. On this same PC, I have some Virtual PCs setup. One of these is setup without a domain, and on this Virtual PC, I get names resolution. On other Virtual PCs which are members of the same domain as my PC, no names resolution. Anyone have any ideas as to how I might further troubleshoot this problem ? I'm using: Windows XP SP3; Virtual PC 2007; Local Wireless Router is a Netgear WGR614 v7. The DSL modem is an Indian make. -- - John
