From: Jack [MVP-Networking] on 27 Feb 2010 14:09 Hi You have to physically check all the cables to see if they are connected as they should. You might need to check computer by computer, plug and unplug, and put stickers on the cables so you know what belongs to what, and what is working and what is Not working. When you done lock the switch/hub in a ventilated cabinet. If the cables looks OK and you want to check the Computer's network configuration. http://www.ezlan.net/debug.html Jack (MS, MVP-Networking). From: EN59CVH on 27 Feb 2010 16:27 If you tampered with Network Interface Cards in the box itself then perhaps are not fitted properly. Worth checking them again. hth Amin wrote: >Hi i have a network of five pcs which students distructed and i have changed >the hub and all the ethernet cables, now some of the pcs are working but the >other two wont connect because the cables are not detected. i notice so by >looking at the lights of the corresponding port. what do i need to do to get >the ethernet detected so the pcs will have internet thanks. thats is all xp >computers > >
