From: sheraz_uk on 6 May 2010 06:08 Hi, Please can someone shed some light as to what and why the following is happening: When configuring a mobile (tested using iPhone and HTC HD both on O2 UK network) to the exchange server, we are unable to receive any emails unless outlook is simultaneously open to that exchange mailbox. There are no issues when sending emails. This occurs regardless of which user exchange mailbox account is used. Furthermore, when tested using a Nokia e71 on 3G (UK) network and utilising 3Gs email software all emails sync without any issues (no need for second connection to be established to exchange mailbox). It is not necessary that outlook to be open, it can be any type of connector to that particular exchange mailbox. I hope the above makes sense but if anyone requires any further info please do post any questions. Thanks, Sheraz. -- sheraz_uk ------------------------------------------------------------------------ sheraz_uk's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/217161.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/small-business-server/1334441.htm http://forums.techarena.in

How are you setting up the phones? With an Exchange ActiveSync account, or otherwise? I haven't heard of this occuring, since whether using Exchange ActiveSync (which I am assuming), POP3 or IMAP4, since it directly communicates with the Exchange server. Are the phone plugged in to a laptop or workstation when you are setting them up? If so, no need to. Ace This posting is provided "AS-IS" with no warranties or guarantees and confers no rights.
