another bizarre architecture
This looks really weird to me... http://www.maxim-ic.com/appnotes.cfm/appnote_number/3960 Does it resemble anything you've ever seen? It looks truly ghastly to program. For example, allowing printf() to use floats adds 3500 bytes to a program binary. John ... 11 Feb 2007 11:49
I2C Firmware Code for TI MSP430F2013
I'm currently searching the coder (firmware) who has experience with I2C bus. I am looking for firmware solutions for my prototype that will be used in manufacturing testing for I2C LED Modules. Each module contains six of TPIC2810 LED Driver chips with Address from 1100000X to 1100101X. All of 8 outputs fo... 31 Jan 2007 13:24
STR912 ARM with SSD1906 TFT controller
Hi, I'm looking for an application note or sample code to get started using a TFT display with a Solomon's SSD1906 graphic controller. I have a board with a STR912 on it that I'll use to interface with the graphic controller and send commands and data. Thanks in advance !! H.K. ... 26 Jan 2007 15:43
ATSTK525
Hi, I'm filling out a order to Digikey, and was considering ordering a STK525 USB dev kit. I noticed however the STK525 has a TQFP socket. No problem, I think, I'll add a couple of AT90USB's with a TQFP footprint to my order as well. It looks like Digikey only has 2 types of AT90USB's in stock, both in a QFN pac... 29 Dec 2006 12:44
Microprocessor recommendations?
Hi All, I want to move to something bigger than a Z80/8032/PIC which I use at the moment. I would like about 50 MIPS, 1MByte Flash, 256KByte RAM - possibly all external, integrated ethernet, 2 serial ports, enought DSP capability to do 2 or so channels VOIP, the ability to self program (bootloader) for remote u... 20 Dec 2006 00:42
Regarding MIL-STD-1553 ( Remote Terminal Design)
Hi Everybody, Let me introduce myself to you. This is anand, working in a private company. See, just now I have completed my Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics field. And moreover I am fresher. But right now I am working in MIL-STD-1553 project. See our ultimate interest is to ... 30 Nov 2006 06:27
serial large data storage for micros.
Does anyone know of any serial interfaced (RX/TX) 1Mb-ish, (or larger) flash ram storage systems for micros? Needs a simple file like indexed system, so data chunks can be written, retreived, and deleted. Much like a hard drive system. I know a USB ram drive will do this, but I would like something to interf... 14 Nov 2006 18:02
Source Code Control
In the past our source code control has been based largely around CD backups and individual's memories of why a change was made and where the source is stored. I think the time has come whereby a more ordered method of control needed but I do not want to add a big administrative burdon to my development process... 11 Nov 2006 00:58
Mapping Multi-I/O Card to "Legacy" ports ?
Hi, I have a PC on which the on-board parallel port has blown. I have bought a Netmos NM9835 based multi I/O card. This chipset supports the remapping of it's ports to "legacy" port addresses, but the standard driver disks only have a DOS utility for doing so. I have searched for a utility that can do this und... 4 Oct 2006 17:22
PIC vs AVR vs ARM
Hi All, As an amateur embedded circuit player, I have used couple of AVR and PIC microcontrollers in the past. In these days it is not to hard to find small, ARM based ready to use embedded boards under $100. They seems to have faster clock speed then most of the AVR and PIC boards. Can anybody shortly com... 6 Nov 2006 10:24
