Whilst trying to get on various websites an error message as follows keeps
appearing and stops access to the site
"An error occurred while copying file FO_AX_CAB_INSTALLER.exe
Cannot copy file to destination folder"

Did you mis-type the error message? There are no references to that
filename other than your post.

http://www.google.com/search?q=FO_AX_CAB_INSTALLER.exe&qt_s=Search&sa=N&tab=gw

You could look in the registry for any reference to the filename, and
post the entries found.. that might help diagnose what program is trying
the "install".

Sorry Elmo the first 2 letters should have been FP and not FO in the file
I think the file originates from Adobe Flash player active X
I dont think there is anything wrong with the file but it is What is
stopping it from downloading into a directory and how do I go about finding
out what it is and how to overcome it
When you say go into the registry etc how do I do that
Thanks

A Google Groups search shows many suggested solutions. Here's one thread:

http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6.browser/browse_thread/thread/24120ae76ac3dba4/27b793bae2534ba0?lnk=st&q=FP_AX_CAB_INSTALLER.exe#27b793bae2534ba0

You could remove the ActiveX component from Internet Options, General
tab, Settings button, View Objects button. With IE7, the path is
somewhat different but I don't have it available here.

To look through the registry for references to the now-defunct
"FO_AX_CAB_INSTALLER.exe", you would click Start, Run, type REGEDIT and
click OK. But since the utility is now known, there's no reason to
pursue that path.
