Can you make a CD from an ISO?
Google "Super Grub Disk".
Download the iso. It is not very large.
Write the ISO to the blank CD. Remember to use the boot option from your
CD writing program
Reboot with the Super Grub Disk and follow the directions.

Hey thanks bliss..

What a good CD!

Only thing is I see the XP loader and I get to XP okay, but it only
mentions..
'Other OS'
and when I choose that. I get an error.
So I have either set up Linux incorrectly or..?

That you have set it up incorrectly is a possibility
Why don't you try that install again. I don't use
Mephis so I cannot advise you on that point but
it seems a rather compact install though I have
done Mandriva in 10 GiB.

You might want to read the documentation
again or indeed ask for help at the Mephis site.

Yes you are right about reinstall however I am having to learn the linux
commands by doing this and up until now it was fine although I am
leaning towards the reinstall today!!

I have done a few more commands here

mount /dev/hdb2 /mnt/hdb2
ls /mnt/hdb2commands and got a list of files..

[Code][bin dev home lost+found mnt proc
sbin sys usr
boot etc lib media opt root selinux tmp varWhen I did

geometry (hd0)
geometry (hd1)I got.. syntax error near unexpexcted token 'hd0'

What would happen if I attempted a clean install again of MEPIS?

This is taking too long to find and it is a clean install with nothin g
set up so nothing to lose.

Thanks, appreciate the time and help.
