From: KJK on 31 Dec 2008 10:34 My environment is as follows. 2 HUB Transport Servers, Backend Mail Cluster using CCR. I have noticed over the past several days that mail seems to queue while being delivered to the mailbox Cluster. I run the Command get-queue -SortOrder:-MessageCount -Results:1 | fl Output as follows Identity : ServerXXX\8884 DeliveryType : MapiDelivery NextHopDomain : SERVER.Domain.corp NextHopConnector : 00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 Status : Active MessageCount : 17 LastError : LastRetryTime : 12/31/2008 10:07:11 AM NextRetryTime : IsValid : True ObjectState : Unchanged I noticed that the retry time was 17-18 minutes ago. As soon as the next retry time fires the mail is flushed. Is this normal? It seems like mail is not delivered until a retry. I'm not even sure if this is something that can be set.
From: Ravishankar on 31 Dec 2008 15:12 The default retry interval is 5 minutes for MAPI delviery queue. Check the configuration file EdgeTransport.exe.config under Bin folder. From: KJK on 1 Jan 2009 18:03 It appears to be set for 5 minutes. I have been analyzing the queue for about a day now and there are always some messages queued up for Mapi Delivery. The queue always says Active as well. When I try and do a retry-queue through command shell the command does not seem to take.... I'm wondering if there is some sort of issue with RPC/MAPI performance that is causing the issue. I'm not exactly sure how I would troubleshoot this though. From: KJK on 2 Jan 2009 14:35 point being, the MAPI queue is active but, no mail is transmitted.
