LaCie has had problems with external power supply reliability.
So have others though.

and stuff, and aren't good at returns/refunds/etc. They've also stolen
Panic's icon for Transmit judging by that page :-(

It only supports FTP and it only transfers data at 5MB/s. That's woeful.
My home-brew SAN transfers data at 30MB/s.
