From: jhope1979 on 12 Feb 2007 10:27 I also have the same error. I have never "put" this site but have several other sites working off the same ftp. The 550 access denied seems odd because the id and password check and connect in the edit sites box. Any Ideas????? Thanks
From: Alan on 12 Feb 2007 11:04 The 550 access denied seems odd > because > the id and password check and connect ftp error 550 means permission denied for the request action. You are logged in (username/pass correct) but you are not allowed to do what you tried to. If you are trying to PUT files into a directory you do not have write access to- that could be the cause. pls do this: Open the ftp log window. connect using the Files panel. expand the Files panel, or switch so it shows the remote files. What is showing in the remote? Is there a folder named something like httpdocs www public_html or other folder with a name indicating that THAT is where your public site files go? If yes- enter that exact folder name in the "host directory" line of the remote info for this site definition. connect again. Can you now PUT files? If not- what clues are in the FTP log window?? -- Alan Adobe Community Expert, dreamweaver http://www.adobe.com/communities/experts/

> Remote view I do not see my site ....... but- you do connect with no error messages? If not- What is the error message, and what does the FTP log window say? if yes- you can connect but see nothing in the remote side of the Files panel; try this- go to the "Host Directory" line of the remote server info in this site definition. type a / into it. Just / now connect. What if anything is in the remote side of the Files Panel? answer your next post: >My remote info looks good: pointing to publishing folders(dont understand) I don't either. Explain or give details to the questions i've asked. It doesn't matter if the remote info "looks good" if it isn't correct. -- Alan Adobe Community Expert, dreamweaver http://www.adobe.com/communities/experts/ |
