I've got almost 100 Firebox units, all different sizes, in the field,
but I don't pick the X10 series at all, the x20 is the smallest that I
use and I don't pick it unless the customer is refusing to pay for
anything reasonable.

I would suggest that you look at the XTM 505 series as your base
starting point. The unit is robust and provides a significant
improvement over the smaller units as well as having a rules interface
that is easier to use/manage. Retail on these units is about $1,300 from
most vendors.
