Which is important to me. Still need to look into it further but these are early impressions. Works pretty much straight away (which is as you would want) and the only configuring absolutely needed is for your apps trying to get out. It likes to trust MS signed apps but I don't share that view so you too might want to remove that. If you get Fielsclab then make sure you get the Pro version (v3) as that is actually free. There is a non-Pro version (v2.5?) which is also free but the Pro version is nicer.

From: Wayne on 16 Sep 2005 17:17 Thanks for your comments. I do have the pro, v 3. I've been using it now for 3 days and I'm very impressed on all the junk that it blocks from coming in. The balloons keep you well informed. It is a nice and promising product, especially for free. Watch out right now for excessive cpu usage in the current version. Many people have reported it and they are working on a fix for the next release. On my Win2k system here I am seeing 2-10% cpu usage with spikes up to 15%, and this while just idling. Way too high at the moment, but hopefully will be fixed soon. -- Kerodo |
