I just kicked acrobat pdf reader 7.1 out of my tasks. it retained 32 MB
memory even after having it closed. Is there any way to stop AR reaining
memory after having it closed ? I guess there are smaller pdf readers
who migth be better = smaller, more rapid, than Acrobat Reader ?

Hi Frank,

Give Foxit reader a try and I'll think you'll be amazed at the difference.

You can use Acrobat Reader SpeedUp from http://www.tnk-bootblock.co.uk to
deactivate not needed plugins. Finally remove the "Adobe Reader Speed
Launch" from the Windows Startup. The later one is used to preload AR into
memory.

Romain,
thanks for the hint. I'll also try it when their server is up again.
Speed Launch had already been disabled ...

Thanks
