Hi,
I'm trying to repair my an old Mac Classic and I think I have located
the problem to be the SCSI controller chip - a NCR 53C80. Do anyone know
a place/website that deals in obsolete chips? I have tried google, but
without much luck.

I think your best bet would be to try to track down a spare machine to
use for spare parts.

You could try one of these sites:

There are certainly a few for sale on the net, although most of them are
in the US there are a couple in the UK.

Did you try asking
http://www.com-com.co.uk/NCR/parts/53C80.ihtml?pp=1~source=com-com.co.uk
if they could get you one? they are the first UK address I saw on
google.

Thank for all the suggestions. I've tried to contact some of the firms,
but either they can't locate the chip or it will be way to expensive
(£100+). Guess I have to try finding a defect classic, Plus or SE.
