U are right! ;-)
there is also *Portable Apps* version (best known in the worldwide)
but also many others. (Liberkey, Lupo Pensuite, etc.)

the final choice is up to You

but usually we are quickest in the updates..... ;-)

The solution is quite easy... ;-)

1 - DL palemoon zipped version
http://www.palemoon.org/download/palemoon-3.5.4.zip
2 - DL X-Firefox (last version is ok!)
3 - Startup X-firefox for first "installing" (not really an install)
4 - close X-Firefox
5 - Go in the "BIN" folder and change existing firefox folders with
unzipped palemoon project folders

That's it!

at next startup with x-firefox.exe You will have a working "portable
palemoon* ;-)

NOTE: I made only a quick test, and it works, but Your "on field
feedback" would be very appreciated.

Hi Taf. As promised, I have now been thru this process and my
feedback follows for your information:

1. it appears to work! I now have FF/Palemoon installed/running
from a flash stick, probably in portable mode! I cannot be 100%
sure if it's running in pure portable mode as it may store stuff
in the registry.

2. however, the process appears to be best suited to a *new*
install of Palemoon. When I copied the folder structure of my
*existing* installed copy of Palemoon from my C:\ drive to the new
folder created by x-firefox on my H:\flash drive, I could not get
it to pick-up my current settings and extensions IF started using:
>"H:\Program Files\firefox palemoon portable\X-Firefox.exe".

It starts up like a completely new install of Palemoon :-(
That's a pita because I've highly customised Palemoon.

However, it appears to save settings in sub-folders like:
>H:\Program Files\firefox palemoon portable\Backups\Firefox\bookmark_backup_1/2/3
...and..
>H:\Program Files\firefox palemoon portable\Backups\Firefox\password_backup_1/2/3

There may also be some other settings saved in sub-folders.

3.however, if I start Palemoon using:
>"H:\Program Files\firefox palemoon portable\Bin\firefox\firefox.exe"
....it DID recognise all my settings/extensions BUT it continued to use
the original Mozilla folders on my C:\ drive to store settings/cache etc
which makes it non-portable. I don't know how to close that loop
....my guess is that I would need to edit the x-firefox prefs files on the
H:\flash drive to sort that out. dunno.

I hope that's clear enough for you to make some comments :-)

regards
hummer...
