You most probably have a localized issue as I have 3 different Macs all
running 10.6.3 and Bing Maps presents no problem. If you have
Silverlight, try using the beta version of Bing Maps at
http://www.bing.com/maps/explore/install.aspx and see if that crashes.

I wasn't insulted; I considered the source. Davoud obviously speaks
from ignorance.

I have the Silverlight plugin, and that URL crashes Firefox.
Incidentally, nothing else on Bing crashes Firefox, only maps.

Works for me in Safari, too. Used to work in Firefox (I'm probably
wrong in attributing the problem to Snow Leopard; I don't really
know when it started).

When I open bing.com/maps in Opera, it suggests that "The web
browser on this computer and the Maps site may not work well
together," and suggests that I install Internet Explorer or Firefox.
If I ignore that and click through, Opera and Bing Maps work just
fine in the bird's eye view, which is what I go to Bing for.

I've cleared the cache. I've tried turning off Adblocker Plus and
NoScript.

The plugins are: Java, Google Earth, iPhotoPhotocast (what's that?),
CaddieSync (golf GPS), Java Plug-In 2 for NPAPI Browsers (what's
that?), Silverlight, Flash, QuickTime, and the Default plugin.

The extensions are: Adblock Plus, ClorfulTabs, DownloadHelper,
FireFTP, Mozilla Archive Format, and NoScript.

I'll try going thru the plugins and extensions turning them off one
at a time to see if one of them is the source of the problem.

Found it: NoScript was blocking Silverlight.
