From: steve on 3 Feb 2010 10:39 Im strugging with trying to remove some folders that will not let me remove them as administrator. I have read tons of stuff on this but find it confusing. I admit that even in school I never quite got permissions. When I try to go into say folder3 it says Access is denied. Ok so, then I go to properties and the only two tabs I have available to me are General and Customize. Nothing else. The attributes for this folder are Grey / Read-Only. I cant seem to make it un-Read only. When I try to make it un-read only it says Access denied. Ok so then I go to Folder2 above Folder 3. and give admin and everyone full control, then allow inheritable permissions ... for admin and everyone Still no permission to delete the folder3. When I try to take ownership of the folder2 with administrators owners I get access denied. I have tryed to use xcacls.vbs but still no luck. Iv been going around and around wtih this to no luck Can anyone shed some light on this and help me. Thanks.

So it would have been easier just to say Windows 2003, Service Pack 2, 32bit. Is that what you have? As for your permissions issue and not able to delete folders, it appears your machine may have been "pubbed" by pirates. Take a look at my blog on how to remove these undeleteable folders and why they can't be deleted. From: steve on 4 Feb 2010 09:19 I do not think that it has been compromised. We are behind a firewall (watchguard) and we have virus protection on all machines. I have looked at the link but its not really fitting I think for my situation. I really think that it is some sort of prmissions hell or something of that nature that is stopping me from changing the permissions. Regards
