Daniel, follow the instructions I gave (i.e. use Universal Extractor to
break the installation file open) and you will see goog.exe among the
files included in the setup file.

It may be that this executable does something and then disappears during
installation of the screensaver, but I for one don't know what it does
and don't trust it. It's not part of the installation package for nothing.

When it comes to screensavers, as we all know, the risk of installing
malware from one is pretty high. No point in taking chances in this regard.

Aha, I guessed to that. I was offline during installation.

Yes, something tried an Internet connection, but the goog.exe seems to
be vanished. You can still find goog.exe on your System?

Daniel, you misunderstand. I never installed the screen saver. Instead,
I extracted all the files from the screen saver's installation download
and then examined them. To do this, I used Universal Extractor:

http://www.legroom.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=Open_Source&file=index&page=software&app=uniextract

Here is what I found:

C:\2
install_script.iss
\{app}
homepage.url
jam.ico
license.txt
ss.url
\{sys}
Free Winter Dreams Screensaver.html
Free Winter Dreams Screensaver.scr
\{tmp}
goog.exe <-------------------------------------- NOTE!
\embedded
default.isl
License.txt
WizardImage.bmp
WizardSmallImage.bmp

I hope this makes things clearer.

The only references to goog.exe I found seem to be a script to open and
close a CD drawer.
http://virtual.lncc.br/~diego/PIBIC/MFC%20Examples/EjectCdRom/GOOG/GOOG.rc
http://virtual.lncc.br/~diego/PIBIC/MFC%20Examples/EjectCdRom/GOOG/GOOG.plg

I see their web site:
http://www.3d-screensaver-jam.com/
is touting a CD package from one of their partners:
"Get Complete Collection, containing absolutely all Astro Gemini
screensavers worth over. . . ."

Grasping at straws but perhaps a possibility.

Thanks Susan. Yeah, I saw all that too. Afraid to double click on the
goog.exe file to find out what it does though.
