From: Didier Maignan | CLC Didier Maignan | CLC on 5 May 2010 08:08 Hi folks, since I work on the final RTM Project Profesional 2010, I face a new issue. When you define a single task "Fixed Duration" with a single assignment full time, the assignment units does not react as it should. As a matter of fact, when this option is set with OK. Then, in a second step, you moved the work upward and the units do not move. If you moved the work up, the units do not move either. this means that if i am constraint by the project sponsor to end at an early fixed date, even if my resources can be hired, I cannot ask the SW to adjust resources units on all my critical path to fit the correct milestone : and do more work with more people to reduce duration. Same thing with "fixed Work". When I change the duration, the unit DO NOT move and remains 100%. witch means for instance that i my goal is later than expected, if I enlarge durations I cannot expect units to be calculated lower than the former defined plan. Is this issue only related to the French version ?

Hi Didier, there was a change how assignment units are working. Have a look at http://blogs.msdn.com/project/archive/2010/04/29/assignment-units-in-project-2010.aspx. I hope that will help you to get what you need.
