If you use firefox or thunderbird,
type:
about:config
on the address line, then do a search for these two keys:
geo.enabled change to false
geo.wifi.uri change to localhost

Amazing the amount of information google/mozilla want to archive about
users.

Must be a new-fangled thing. Neither entry appears in my 3.0.17 firefox

You just might want to change these too:

network.dns.disablePrefetch
network.dns.disablePrefetchFromHTTPS
network.prefetch-next

I have a few more tweaks if anyone is interested.
And now I present ....
tatata ...
Hummingbird_false, with his comments on this post.

I think you misinterpret the geolocation option. In any case, IIRC, when
a site wants to make use of the geolocation function you will see a
warning, much alike the one you see when a pop-up is blocked. So I don't
see much use in tinkering in about:config when the option can be blocked
when the time comes.

I don't have WiFi, so I couldn't care less what this does.
