It doesn't seem odd in any way from Safari 5 here. What is neat is when
you search for "world cup" (which is an association football
competition) and you scroll to the end of the page..

And now it's normal white b/g... And the Safari access is no longer in
Russian. Clearly the Google Kiddies were having a recreational morning.

Normally, I'd never know; as I said, I never go via the home page

Nope still playing up here - although the background picture has changed
from coloured flowers to floating orbs in a water lily pond.

Yes. I've now changed my homepage from google.com to google.co.uk to
force it to behave itself.
