How do you install a Gui, small and fast, with Ubuntu server?

It can make a slipstreaming with the Ubuntu cdrom adding a Gui?

Thanks

Regards

Here's hoping this is not Sidney related troll. (We've got a ranter
lately who gets pretty perturbed about using GUI's, and he cross-posts
a lot, so the flaming tends to continue from various other newsgroups
as well.)

The word "GUI" applies to a whole lot of different tools: Firefox has
a GUI, modern versions of Emacs have a GUI when used with X Windows,
screensavers have GUI's, etc. I assume that you actually want to have
X Windows running, and be able to run graphical applications like
FireFox. In that case, the basic Ubuntu installation should provide
it, and Ubuntu supports the very nice "synaptic" tool for selecting
packages.

I don't understand what you mean by 'slipstreaming'. Are you looking
for a way to pre-configure a minimal installation from a CD
installation? Or what?

'apt-get install xfce4', assuming that by "Gui" you mean "desktop
environment".

No idea what you mean by that.
