I would gladly give that if I could figure out where! The HP site isn't
all that user friendly to my notion. I did find a "parts" number which I
will call first thing in the morning. Unless you can point me to wherever
you found it.

Thanks.

If you have an actual part number for the recovery CD, run it through a
search engine. There could be a third party, with one of those. It is
possible HP has some suppliers it uses, to handle the older CDs.

After about 45 minutes of getting stuck in a "press X for whatever" phone
loop and 3 transfers, I finally got one ordered from HP. On the bright
side all of the representatives spoke understandable English. The total
cost including shipping is $10.70 and it's supposed to be here Monday or
Tuesday. All said and done, I guess it was worth the wait... :-)
Thanks for your help. I had forgotten that there even was such a thing as
a Tablet PC version of Windows.
The notebook doesn't have a CD/DVD ROM built in, but there was a new
external one that she bought with it. I sure hope THAT works!
I'll keep you posted.

It didn't. The external DVD rom is trash. The brand name is Plimus Model
ADV01US. It's just a reader, not a writer. I've ordered a Lite-On ETAU208-
96 which will be here tomorrow. Stay tuned... :-)
