From: David Probett on 20 May 2010 13:30 Hi I have long been used to reasonably good Sony Ericsson phones - the last being a W610 which lasted for four years. A month ago I bought an HTC HD2. Is there something I should know about this Windows mobile-based phone or am I an unreconstructed dinosaur in the ever-changing world of mobile phones? 1. For existing music on my pc, I cannot get either iTunes or Windows Media Player to reliably transfer across to the HTC the tracks or find the correct Albumart. I can transfer the files across using File Manager and the Albumart images but they do not always tie up to the correct tracks. Also WMP seems to divide the tracks in its own listings in strange ways from the manual sort on my pc. Am I missing something? 2. E-Mail The HTC HD2 seems to have a very convoluted way of handling e-mail accounts. It does not seem possible to view all e-mails, from 3 accounts in one listing. YET, it insists on me creating an Inbox for one of my accounts and then using that account as an Outlook Inbox, where it replicates the e-mails - although much later in time. I also have to delete the same e-mails, separately, from each Inbox. Weirs. Am I missing something, again? Any helpful replies would be greatly appreciated. Regards - David

Yuk. > YET, it insists on me creating an Inbox for one of my accounts and > then using that account as an Outlook Inbox, where it replicates the > e-mails - although much later in time. > > I also have to delete the same e-mails, separately, from each Inbox. > Weirs. > > Am I missing something, again? Sounds like you have set the phone to synchronise email with outlook on your PC. Disable that and use imap mail instead of POP, if your mail provider supports it. -- Regards Jon
From: David Probett on 24 May 2010 16:31 Thanks for the reply. In the end I copied the Micro Card to the laptop - to preserve some of my settings and music. Then I formatted the Micro card via the laptop but not whilst in the phone. And then....I did a factory reset, copied some of the files back to the micro card and manually set the phone up a little better than before. I'm still not convinced about how good a phone it really is. But it's certainly 'interesting'. At least I can read e-mails and do limited Internet browsing whilst away from home.
