I have Microsoft Project 2003. I have a file which I wish to save as HTML to
share with the team. Many resources have recurring tasks for a weekly support
day (every friday they fix bugs and support other developers).

When I export the file as HTML, the recurring tasks are expanded into a list
of all 52 weeks of the project's recurring tasks. I would like to show ONLY
the top-level task for recurring tasks or, barring that, do NOT export
recurring tasks into the HTML doc, if at all possible.

Anyone know how to do this?

Frankly, the best way is to not put the recurring task into the plan.
I'm not trying to be cheeky, but that's the issue/opportunity/problem
with recurring tasks--they recur.

Maybe use one of the custom flag fields to tag those tasks that are in
the plan that you don't want in the HTML file and then filter them out.

Thanks, this worked very well.

I'm fond of using recurring tasks to track tasks that truly recur, due to
their low maintenance requirements. I'm willing to work around the
weaknesses. Project is full of features that can misuse you if you misuse
them.

I don't have Project 2003 handy to test, but if you collapse up
all the recurrences, and then export, does it not show just the
single summary recurring task line?

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
