Worth noting that you lose full-screen though - I've gone back to Flash
just because of this reason.

It doesn't work in FireFox, because while the latest versions support
<video> they use an open source codec while Safari uses H.264 (or 263,
can't remember exactly which).

This highlights that until the W3C makes a particular codec mandatory
the <video> tag is just going to cause more problems than it solves.
This is a real shame as Flash is just really really bad.

It's a reference to the fact that Flash is very cpu-intensive.
