From: mm on 14 May 2010 13:18 Two or more of the mailing lists I'm on have stopped sending me emails with much more than a weblink in them. Personally, I think it's a pain to click on a link and have to read on the web, but more importantly, I'm curious. What has prompted this? Has the cost of email for mass emailers gone up, so that they save money by sending shorter emails? Thanks

Normally I would have thought that, but so many changed at one time, and two of them are non-profits. The previous system was I would read the email itself, and go to the website to see more of the same. Their advantage over all the other worthwhile websites was that they emailed me. Right to me. Now they just email me a topic, and after a few weeks, no topic sounds interesting enough to click on.
