SATA DVD/CD R/W is recognized, but does not disply CD contents

Malware Problem?
My computer often redirects me on Google searches and sometimes gives me a random pop-up in the form of a new tab. All of these redirecting pages have the same icon that you see on the tab before it goes to another site. Word now opening with cursor at top of page

Also just want to add that after trying optrex's fix (that didn't work) it now takes my computer half an hour to properly start up. Desktop shortcuts not working
I had a similar problem, caused by me being a bit too over-zealous with registry cleaners. I went to Doug Knox's website and downloaded the registry fixes for Lnk and Folder.
