hangs up on shutdown sometimes
I am running Windows XP SP3 with all updates. Using PC Tools Internet Suite. Lately sometimes my PC hangs up on shutdown. I can tell when this is happening because the disc drive light quits blinking. In a normal shut down it is very active recording things etc until it shuts down. I want to add a TCP/IP printer but I am seem to be missing the "Standard TCP/IP port" option in the drop-down list when adding printer via local port. I have no idea why this is missing on this machine. Is it a driver? How can I restore it? ... 25 May 2010 10:14

Slow operation
I had one of my SCSI CDRoms die and removed it. Since then opening certain things (in particular .jpg and .htm) files takes about 12 seconds. Yet other things are fine, .txt for one. you can do the following: - open the picture using windows paint program (mspaint.exe), and save the image in bmp format. - delete the jpg file and and thumb.db file - re-save the bmp in jpg format again. that should solve it. it worked for me! don't foreget to delete the bmp file once done... :-) -- arik... 23 May 2010 03:53
