From: Rick Rogers on 15 Aug 2006 22:11 Hi, Before you do anything further, save the data files (pics) to removable media. If you cannot access them ("access denied"), search Help & Support on Taking Ownership. Once the files are safe, try expanding or copying the appropriate replacement file from %windir%\ServicePackFiles\I386 rather than the CD. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org "Redfox8391" <redfox8391(a)emailnews.org> wrote in message news:v_kEg.201551$k%3.34081(a)dukeread12... > Rick Rogers wrote: >> Hi, >> >> Did you add any new hardware and what was the file you replaced? Hi Rick, after many attempts at replacing various files, soon as I replaced one it would ask for another!, I decided to go ahead and do a re-instal of winxp-pro and it worked quite well, I still have some minor issues like re-installing some drivers but it is almost done and I have my original win installation working and this time I'm backing up some important files!!! Lesson well deserved, right??? Tks very much for your help, it's greatly appreciated!!! C.C. Rick Rogers wrote: > Hi, > > Did you add any new hardware and what was the file you replaced?
