Battery is no good. Do not attempt to charge it or it might "vent with flame". Typical lifetime of a lithium-ion battery is about 2 years, so it's done its fair share; get a new battery pack and let Apple handle disposing of that one. -- The problem with socialism is there's always someone with less ability and more need.
