How do I reinstall Upgrade Office XP when old version has gone?

From: Sicomp on 16 Mar 2010 23:26 My computer recently crashed and have reinstalled the programs I had successfully but because my computer now does not have the original version of Office '97, my copy of Upgrade Office XP won't reinstall. Any suggestions?

I just upgraded of Office XP on a test machine before I posted the only thing I have on this test machine is Win XP Professional with SP3, and Microsoft Excel 6. The setup is cloned so that after every test it can reinstated to its original state for another test. So I know what I am taking about. Does this help.
