FWIW, This machine - which _came_ with SP3 - hasn't given me much
trouble so far.

But no-one can say whether you should install SP3 or not: look at the
benefits SP3 is supposed to give (added functionality, security matters)
and decide if they are significant to you.

I think the reports of SP3's problems have died off, and in general it
is a good thing. As long as you're not overly concerned by the (alleged)
increased DRM, I'd say it's probably better on balance to have it than
not. But that's just my opinion.
