From: dorayme on 30 Apr 2010 19:11 Anyone use VirtualBox here? How do you get the actual Windows application window itself to nearly fullscreen on a large monitor in VirtualBox? Is Windows in Parallels or Fusion similarly limited or clunky when it comes to window size or can one enjoy (ahemm!) Windows XP (say) at fullscreen or nearly at or anything you want like on a real Windows PC? -- dorayme
From: Alfonso Romero on 30 Apr 2010 22:22 You need to install Guest Additions and then hit Right-Ctrl + F to set the full-screen mode. Regards, --- frmsrcurl: http://compgroups.net/comp.sys.mac.system/How-do-you-get-Win-app-itself-to-nearly-fullscreen-in-VirtualBox

I like this virtual machine, a bit clunky regarding mouse capturing from them to the Mac desktop etc but beats starting up a dedicated winbox... -- dorayme

Under "Machine" (on the Mac menu bar), try checking "Auto Resize Guest Display" and playing with "Adjust Window Size." I get a nice 20" wide-screen out of Win XP. -- Very old woody beets will never cook tender. -- Fannie Farmer

No problem. And for the record, Guest Additions also let you get rid of the mouse capturing issue, along with some other benefits like copying/pasting info between your guest and your host and shared folders.
