I am trying to connect some wires to a COM port or PS/2 port to transmit data to a relay and stimulus. When I try to access some of the COM ports through MatLab an error is returned that says the COM port is unavailable. This is because there is not an actual RS232 wire attached to the port but simply some copper wire connected to individual pins in the port. Is there some way that I can make this 'unavailable' port 'available'?
