'aptitude safe-upgrade' will probably not upgrade many packages, as you're doing a 'full-upgrade' (previously 'dist-upgrade'). Yet, first doing a 'safe-upgrade' and see if all still is working is probably a cautious and thus good way to proceed. Sjoerd
