From: ykä on 12 Apr 2010 02:03 Thanks for quick response! How can I check, if I have uninstalled Activation Assistant? At least I couldn't find it at Control Panel's "Programs and Functions" (I'm not sure about the name "Programs and functions" since I have a Finnish version of W7). Could you please explain in more details "modify the settings to ignore this update"? I couldn't find any option to permanently deny the installation of this update. I don't want to uncheck the checkbox every day. best regards, ykä "DL" wrote: > Did you also uninstall the Activation Assistant? > Run MS Update manually, modify the settings to ignore this update > > "ykä" <ykä@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:6A8F5BEA-76D1-46F9-AD07-F10AEB1ABDEE(a)microsoft.com... > > I bought a new laptop, which had a preinstalled trial copy of MS-Office. From: ykä on 15 Apr 2010 03:03 Hi, The situation is now even worse. Today I got two updates for MS-Office: KB949810 and KB981715 (7,4 MB). Is there any way to permanently prevent these updates? ykä "DL" wrote: > Did you also uninstall the Activation Assistant? > Run MS Update manually, modify the settings to ignore this update > > "ykä" <ykä@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:6A8F5BEA-76D1-46F9-AD07-F10AEB1ABDEE(a)microsoft.com... > > I bought a new laptop, which had a preinstalled trial copy of MS-Office.
