For quite a few people it's by installing programs like Messenger Plus, whose ads for malware don't identify the malware as such and try to convince you that you owe it to the author. From: KenobiRox on 5 Mar 2008 09:30 Alot of good sites, I did do a virus scan, but failed to scan for spyware. Also, I ran sfc /scannow. I will try these suggestions and post back the results.
