From: Dan9298 on 19 Mar 2007 10:01 I am having a problem getting an Authorware web piece to play in IE7. It worked fine with IE6. I have tried moving the piece to an iframe (as suggested in these forums); but it still isn't working. Are there other work-arounds that I should try? If not, could someone post a detailed example of the iframe fix, to verify that I am implementing it correctly? Thanks
From: Erik **AdobeCommunityExpert** on 19 Mar 2007 10:19 The 'iframe fix' is only a fix to get the ReadURL function to work properly in IE7, largely in relation to ReadURL("javascript...") functions > and those largely for SCORM communication. Is that the problem you're having with your A'ware application and IE7 or is the issue more 'getting the piece to play' at all? If not the former, then the iframe approach likely won't help. What specific problems are you having with the application playing in IE7? Erik Dan9298 wrote: > I am having a problem getting an Authorware web piece to play in IE7. From: Dan9298 on 19 Mar 2007 10:41 Thanks for the response, Erik. The piece won't play at all. However, the first thing it does is use ReadURL("javascript...)" to access information about the current user. So, I had assumed that the problem is related to ReadURL. When trying to run the piece, I get the Macromedia logo, and then the message: "The file cannot be opened becauase the following error has occurred: the file is damaged or not an Authorware file." Does this help?
From: Dan9298 on 19 Mar 2007 16:42 After further research and tons of trial & error; I was able to solve the problem by using an iframe and moving the authorware piece to a subfolder on the server (instead of the root folder).
