Has there been any word from Adobe concerning the continuation of
Authorware?

Here's what I got for a reply (it doesn't leave me with a warm, fuzzy feeling)
Also note that Authorware is "absent" from the list of products that have
undergone Vista compatibility testing.

"Unfortunately, Adobe does not give out any information on unreleased
products. For the most current information on any Adobe branded
products, we recommend checking out website at www.adobe.com.

I would certainly agree with you, since it is a flat out lie. Adobe had a
public Beta going for a while on the next version of Fireworks, for
instance.

So while we're on the subject of Authorware, what are alternatives to this program? What other tools are out there?

While not as...robust as Authorware, I see an awful lot of folks using
Lectora from Trivantis. It's similar to Authorware in visuals and
functionality, but definitely different too and not as powerful, IMO.
Though I have only used it a couple times, and lightly.

Personally, I'm working on improving my Flash scripting skills.
Considering I've 10+ years of Authorware development in my head, it's
gonna take a while for me to be quite as proficient with Flash ;)
