If we are talking about a public IP address, speak to your isp.

If not then set your dhcp scope to start at x.x.x.10 /24

Then set the ip address using yast or the command line what ever takes your
fancy to x.x.x.1 /24 .

There was mention about Cisco routers ,if you want to do the above the
commands are

conf t

ip dhcp excluded-address 192.168.0.1 192.168.0.10

#or what ever you internal network is #
!
ip dhcp pool CLIENT
import all
network 192.168.0.0 255.255.255.0
default-router 192.168.0.1
dns-server x.x.x.x y.y.y.y #Add appropriate address no subnet mask#
lease 3 #required#

exit or cnt-c

copy run start or wri ,depends how lazy you are.

Like most things which are flexible in their use and have many features they
are not simple to configure i.e Linux Cisco.Try setting up BGP or OSPF on
most soho adsl routers.

Thanks Grinch - that solved my problem in seconds unlike some other
answers ;-)

Where the cisco thing came from I have no idea.....

User-Agent: Thunderbird 2.0.0.24 (Windows/20100228)

He does not use openSUSE, just takes advantage of it as a server
for his beloved Windoze systems.

You idiots are beyond help.

Top posting crybaby? Gimmie a break. Despite this being Usenet, it is
a HELP forum. Go look at Microsoft. ALL of their post responses get top
posted, ala email response.

It is no big deal for this setting.

Worst case, top posting merely shows an unfamiliarity with the all but
lost in the noise Usenet posting conventions and protocols. This is to
be expected.

The MS hating horseshit shines though in this pathetic group, as usual.

I like Agent. I use it whether I am in Windows or Linux, because it
runs fine under wine, so you retarded twits have no clue as to what a
user is or is not running, much less where or how.

And then again maybe he uses it on another computer?
