I could not agree more. We are not all born computer savy we had to learn.
Also because I can drive does not mean I want to be a mechanic ,just a
driver. Which is all most newbee's want until they find their feet, then
they choose for themselves

I usually find that when people slag off something all the time then they
feel inferior,basically who gives a flying f**k about Microsoft . I don't
use or fear it so don't need to talk about it all the time.

With help like this it is no wonder Micro$oft has the desktop market sown
up. I know of people who gave up on Linux due to puerile abuse they got when
asking questions they did not know the answer to.

I was a beta tester for agent when I was on the darkside ,great bit of code.
Have you tried pan it is basically a copy of agent.

However, if you know how the vehicle works, you will be better
prepared when it comes time for repairs, i.e., so the mechanic
won't sell you a bunch of stuff you don't really need.

Had this discussion with a friend the other day - the mechanic
said "codes 222 and 333" are shown. Well, 222 was a code for
one sensor showing invalid voltages and 333 is a code for another
sensor showing invalid voltages. Both sensors are related to the
the EGR valve (which is a mechanical device). The mechanic said
that the EGR valve and the 2 sensors should be replaced (about
$500 USD in all).

I told him to get the car away from the mechanic because replacing
parts don't necessarily solve the real problem. You know what the
problem was? Two things: not enough vacuum to the EGR valve (which
was triggering the one sensor) and a sticking EGR valve itself
(which was triggering the sensor mounted on the EGR). Took the
EGR off and cleaned its stem ... the "no vacuum" condition was
because the vacuum hose was old/brittle/leaking. The cost to fix
it was like $2.00 for vacuum hose. No error codes anymore.
