My take is that this is the key part of that

"Thank you for participating in the Beta program. You must uninstall all
pre-release products in a specific order before you can continue with setup.
"

i.e. you haven't deleted enough before starting the WSS v3 installation - as
I wrote above I have always first removed everything is sight including .NET
Framework 2.0.

Hello DLS,

Doesnt make sense yet.... but im sure we can figure it out. I have set this
up on numerous Virtual Machines and dont remember coming across this. Is
this a clean install at this point? Can we start from a clean install?
Have you installed .Net 3.0?

With regards to finding hidden information that arent published... the Sharepoint
Team Blog is one good site along with Joel Oleson's. Persoanally though
I think the MVP's have this stuff pretty well covered as we have all been
dogfooding these products for a while now... there is a list of blogs on
my blog page that can be usefull.
