From: DLS on 23 Nov 2006 00:13 I uninstalled Office 2007 Sharepoint Beta and used the uninstall tool to remove previous versions; now i'm not able to install WSS 3.0. How do I troubleshoot an installation? 1. Where are the logs located? 2. What should i look for in the logs? 3. All I have on the Windows 2003 server is .net 2.0 and mom client. 4. Where can I find the blogs with some detailed information about the ins and outs that don't get published in MS support? Any help will be appreciated.
From: Mike Walsh on 23 Nov 2006 00:58 When I installed (on several machines) WSS 3.0 on servers that had been running Beta versions, I removed *everything* from that server (and re-booted) before I did so. All installations then worked So I for instance also removed .Net Framework 2.0. All that I had left was the IIS assignment which I (only) checked was present before doing the WSS installation with first step .Net Framework 3.0.
