Seems a bit odd. It's a perfectly decent table and I am > almost feeling sorry for it! Just phone your council saying you have a large item of waste. When they collect it, it'll be down to them to decide whether to attempt to donate it to charity or just landfill it. Sure, it seems wasteful to bin it, but you've done the best you can and gotten frustrated by maroons. So give it up as a bad job, make it the council's problem. Though by the sound of it, it's a nice table and I'm wishing we could take it off your hands. But we can't, so... -z- -- email: nettid1 at fastmail dot fm

I don't think we paid when our council picked ours up. -z- -- email: nettid1 at fastmail dot fm

Well - I called the council, who, it turns out, pass furniture on to a charity I have already spoken to and who have already rejected it. Unbelievably, sometimes they will only take a table that has six chairs with it! But the woman suggested I go on trying charities who have shops and who take furniture, and finally - ta da - Mencap said they would love to have it, and they even had a lady in mind who wanted a large glass table. So they are hopefully going to collect it in the next few days. > Though by the sound of it, it's a nice table and I'm wishing we could > take it off your hands. But we can't, so... Shame... But even now, a fourth Freecycle lady just texted me to ask for the 'diameter' of the table, even though my ad clearly states '200 cm x 85cm. No one reads! *mutter* -- bellajonez at yahoo dot co dot uk

They're great. Ah, that's news to me. Inwas being very trackpad-centric as I never use a mouse on a Mac. (and thanks to Flavio for pointing out that the magic mouse does frictioned scrolling) > Damn Apple for not releasing a wireless keyboard/touchpad combo > device. I'd buy that in an instant. -z- -- email: nettid1 at fastmail dot fm |
