Three MacBook Pro units on that page and none at the quoted price. It's a little dodgy, anyway, when one of the unit's spec page lists it as coming with 4MB rather than 4GB of RAM and others don't even list RAM, etc in their specs. If, however, you really can find a new MacBook Pro for $500, then it is an excellent price (significantly less than half of retail). -- Spenser

Well, I'm not so comfortable with this so-called "Apple store -- I never heard of this kind ("astore.amazon.com") of 3rd-party "associate" arrangement with amazon.com. I guess it's something new, but it doesn't give me the "warm & fuzzies." Anyway, I just checked the links for the three MacBook Pros on that page, and they all do list their RAM: 2 GB, 4 GB,and (as you noted) 4 MB (which could be a typo): Apple MacBook Pro MB990LL/A 13.3-Inch Laptop - 160 GB Hard Drive, DVD/CD SuperDrive, 2 GB DDR3 RAM Apple MacBook Pro MC118LL/A 15.4-Inch Laptop - Memory: 4000MB DDR2 SDRAM Apple MacBook Pro MB991LL/A 13.3-Inch Laptop - Memory: 4MB DIMM (For yuks, I checked the specs on the other Macs on that page, and they, too, list their RAM.) > > If, however, you really can find a new MacBook Pro for $500, then it is > an excellent price (significantly less than half of retail). -- iMac (24", 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM, 320 GB HDD) OS X (10.5.8)

It's low enough to be highly suspicious. It's also pretty suspicious that the page calls itself the "Apple Store" when it's obviously not affiliated with Apple. -- Tom "Tom" Harrington Independent Mac OS X developer since 2002 http://www.atomicbird.com/

I suspect if it were pointed out to Amazon that it would be terminated for violation of Amazon policies. I'm sure there's something in there similar to "Anything that could embarrass us or get us sued may result in immediate termination." -- Wes Groleau Film Review: The Blue Butterfly http://Ideas.Lang-Learn.us/russell?itemid=1565
