I am wishing to shade in Gantt table cells in order to demonstrate a RAG
status (Red, Amber, Green issue status). I am using MS Project 2003.

Hello Vics,

Sorry, no. Background shading made its first appearance in
Project 2007. You can use custom fields and graphic indicators
for the RAG status instead of coloring the task rows. You'll
need to define your criteria and then create the custom fields to
return values based upon the criteria. Once you have the correct
values, you can set the field to use graphic indicators instead
of the values.

Search on RAG in this newsgroup and you should see many different
scenarios discussed in depth.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
