Always been my experience to avoid (and often refuse despite pressure) sending out MPP files for others to view. Most of the time they don't know what they are reading. Better to send them a document which includes a few key screen shots of the Gantt Chart (if that's what they are looking for) along with your commentary on what it all means for the project.
