Pathetic. Not a bad album by itself, but it's just rehashed antiwar stuff that had been done to death in the 80's. Whining about war and the media. How... normal.

How... normal. ### - i 'know' that you're more intelligent than your above comments portray you to be tom, so all i really can suggest is that you forget being petty with me personally for a moment and listen to the whole thing in its entirety maybe a 2 or 3 times (or how ever many times it takes) as the artist is painting a kind of musical picture/image as a comment on our 'conflict-torn' world, although i think you'll find that it also goes a little further than just war alone but also extends into that of the effects of conflict on us all + the effect that's had in shaping our collective human awareness, something which inescapably affects us all in one way or another... conflict = duality "the flames have all long gone but the pain lingers-on" --lyrics from 'the wall' before the band split up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0v07InoFiU it might be old, but then nothing's really changed and so applies today as much as it ever did, if not more so... there is nothing 'new' under the sun & genuine Art doesn't have a shelf-life... --- news://freenews.netfront.net/ - complaints: news(a)netfront.net ---

He was brought to Pittsburgh by WRCT radio of CMU to the Graffiti night club, where I got to shake his hand during the last number when the band danced weaving their way among the tables to the song "We Travel the Spaceways". And his last appearance was a free concert for the Homewood-Brushton Black Arts Festival. There they played an e-x-t-e-n-d-e-d version of "Let's Go Fly a Kite," where the conga player performed capoeira with a young man from Ra's entourage. The white kids in the crowd were w-a-a-a-y into it as they heartily sang along. Two days later that drummer had a music/dance video on PBS' "Alive From Off-Center" where he also performed capoeira. That video was steeped in mystcism, and I still watch the tape to this day. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_Ra RIP Sun Ra. Amen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hk5jg5fo0kc -- Rev. Dr. Meltdarok
