Quicktime plays *.mp4 and *.mov video files, which Windows > Media Player will not. If you never meet one of those, you won't need > Quicktime. If you do want to see one some time, you will need it. Unless Media Player Classic, or Zoom Player, or one of the other AV programs will do it. Just having Windows Media Player is a bit limiting. :-) But the ones above might need Quicktime installed to be able to play .mov files (not sure); I seriously doubt they would need QT to be able to play mp4 files, however). I've still got an OLD version of QT (ver 5) installed. (the newer ones are bloatware, as is true for so many of the latest program incarnations)
