So why do you get so very angry and defensive when people point out
that you aren't?

"Notorius" might be a better word, but that would apply to your
behaviour, not your portfolio.

Fine. Your book didn't sell, your work has not been cited, and you
score an /average/ of 1 star on your posts.

I guess that you are in no danger of fame, but some danger of being
a celebrity crank.

Up to you.

I don't.

Wondering if I can reach 10000 posts with 1 star. Seems kind of
interesting as a wacky goal.

That is your expert opinion?

Google: "unskilled and unaware"

I'm *serious* as it could help change your life, and maybe you could
see yourself the way others around the world see you.

> Up to you.

And that shows how truly deluded you are, as it's not.

For instance, if you find yourself hounded by reporters asking you
over and over again, why did you post as you did on Usenet Mr. Murray,
is that your choice?

Fame isn't about your choice dude.

Lots of people try for it, but relatively few achieve it--6.8 billion
people on the planet--and some do so even when they don't want it
because it's the choice of other people.

You don't choose. They do.

You know nothing at all about the science of attention aka fame.

Your "JSH: Yeah fame is weird" thread shows otherwise. There is
PLENTY more where that came from.

That is about as believable as your "t-shirt slogan" or "brainstorming"
excuses. Are you really saying that all of those posts are utter
grabage and deliberately so?

Nothing expert about it.

See my signature.

As I don't have delusions of grandeur, am happy in my job, and have no
fear of (nonexistent) fame, I think you need to be a bit more specific.

No, but it if I was fearful of it happening, I'd stop posting. How many
reporters have hounded you?

> Fame isn't about your choice dude.

Partially true. If impending fame is unwelcome, it is TOTALLY your
choice to cease the activity that may bring it.

> Lots of people try for it, but relatively few achieve it--6.8 billion

Some very shy people have become famous and not liked it, so have
taken actions to mitigate its effects. You are doing the opposite;
your portfolio is practically valuless, yet you obsess continually
about the unwelcome fame that it "may" bring, thus attracting
(unwelcome?) attention to yourself. All this, while loudly trumpeting
hubristic claims which are clearly self-advertisements for fame.

> You don't choose. They do.

Not in this case. Don't worry, its not going to work. You need to
discover something new and important first.

> You know nothing at all about the science of attention aka fame.

How can I? You just made that term up!

What makes you think that applies to Mark, rather than to you?

It may. But I HAVE done that search and read up on the subject. So
yes, if someone thinks I should be the one reading up on such things
given my claims, I can assure you I have.

Doesn't hurt to read, eh?

Google: "unskilled and unaware"

And yes, for those who wonder, I've done the search and am an avid fan
of research in this area. I find it fascinating, as I love to learn
and why not learn more?

To the extent that you shrink from reading, is it not from fear of
what you may not like to learn about yourself?

What do you have to lose? Do the search. It's only knowledge.
